How do I book a reading?
All appointments are made by phone — simply call (847) 991-9820 and choose a time that suits you. There’s no online booking; you’ll always speak with us directly.
What are your hours?
We’re open every day, 9am to 9pm, seven days a week — including evenings and weekends.
Where are you located?
Psychic Ames is at 5385 Grand Avenue (Route 132), Gurnee, IL 60031, right next to Six Flags Great America and easy to reach from I-94, serving Chicago, Lake County and southeastern Wisconsin. Get directions.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
We recommend calling ahead so we can set aside private, unhurried time just for you.

What happens during a reading?
A reading is a private, one-on-one conversation. You share your questions — or simply what’s on your mind — and Mrs. Ames listens closely, then shares what she sees with honesty and compassion.
How long is a typical reading?
Sessions are paced around your questions rather than the clock, so length varies. Most clients find a session gives them ample time to explore what matters to them.
Do I need to prepare anything?
No preparation is needed. It can help to think about the areas of life you’d like to explore. See tips for getting the most from your reading.
What kinds of questions work best?
Open-ended questions that begin with “what” or “how” tend to bring the richest insight — for example, “What do I need to understand about this relationship?” rather than “Will he come back?”
Can a psychic predict the future?
A reading explores the energies, possibilities and influences around your situation, offering clarity about the paths ahead. Your own choices always shape what happens next.
Should I bring details about the other person?
You’re welcome to share a first name or a few details if it feels right, but it isn’t required.

What types of readings do you offer?
Psychic readings, tarot, palm reading and love & relationship guidance are available in person, by phone or by FaceTime (FaceTime by appointment only). Chakra & Energy Balancing is an in-person session in Gurnee that brings together chakra balancing, energy balancing, aura cleansing and vibrational healing.
What’s the difference between a psychic reading and a tarot reading?
A psychic reading draws directly on Mrs. Ames’ intuition, while a tarot reading uses the symbolism of the cards as a focus for insight. Many clients enjoy combining the two.
Should I be afraid of the Death card?
Not at all. In tarot, the Death card almost never means physical death — it speaks of transformation: one chapter closing so a new one can begin.
Which hand do you read in a palm reading?

How do I know if I need Chakra & Energy Balancing?

Do you offer readings by phone or FaceTime?

Do you offer readings for international clients?
Yes. International clients are welcome by FaceTime, by appointment only — Mrs. Ames serves U.S. and international clients via FaceTime. Call (847) 991-9820 to arrange a time (hours are 9am–9pm Central Time). Chakra & Energy Balancing is hands-on and offered in person only.
Is a phone reading as accurate as in person?
Many long-time clients connect remotely and find it every bit as personal and insightful. A reading is a conversation, and it works beautifully by phone.
Do I need special software for FaceTime?
FaceTime is available on Apple devices. If you don’t use one, a phone reading works just as well. FaceTime readings are by appointment only.
What time zone are appointments in?
Our hours are 9am to 9pm Central Time, every day. We’ll confirm your time in your own time zone when you call.
